Home Base is the project of twin sisters Ali and Sam Blatteis, Oakland natives whose aging and blending facility is in Berkeley, less than 1 mile away from our shop! We have featured their delicious whiskies at the bar for years and each new batch of their Bourbon is their best one yet in our humble opinion.

Mashbill
60% Organic Yellow Dent Corn grown in Sacramento Valley, sold by Adams Grains
30% malted barley grown and malted in Madras, OR by Mecca Grade Estate Malt
10% malted wheat, grown in Woodland, CA, malted at Admiral Maltings, Alameda, CA

We have always found their whiskies to be very grain driven. Although this batch has some cereal grain sweetness from the high percentage of malted barley and wheat, it tastes more mature and harmonious than previous batches. Toasty oak and proper proofing make it incredibly sippable even without dilution. We recommend this bottle widely due to its approachability, complexity, and to support good people who are a part of our local economy. Aged in Berkeley, CA at Home Base Spirits.
