Is it an Orange Wine? A Rosé? Or something else entirely?! This is a natural wine from Georgia (the country, not the state) that is made from both red and white grapes. Organically farmed Kisi (white, 90%) and Saperavi (red 10%) grapes that are spontaneously fermented on their skins for 6 months in Qvevri (amphora/earthenware vessels). It sort of drinks like a red, white, rose and orange wine simultaneously! A bit of ripe watermelon fruit on the nose with bright acidity and a whisper of grippy tannin on the finish. Fascinating and lip-smackingly drinkable. We can see this bottle working with almost any type of cuisine you can imagine. But we intend to drink it on its own too, no food necessary.
