Cool climate Syrah from the Santa Cruz Mountains. Organically farmed fruit from the Smith vineyard which is a marginal site for ripening that grape and this was actually the first stand alone vintage of this wine since 2019 for that reason. Minimal intervention winemaking. 50% whole cluster, fermented in a puncheon with the head off, 50% destemmed and fermented in a T-bin. Aged 20 months in barrique. This wine will age well if stored properly according to the winemaker. Only two barrels produced.

Think CA Cote Rotie. Bacon, pencil shavings, sleek blue fruits, soft tannins, medium to full bodied.
