SIngle cask, single malt whisky produced at Mars Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima, Japan.This is the 5th release in the Mars Bakemono series, which highlights illustrations from the famous Bakemono Zukushi “Monster” Scroll, an illustrated text (emaki) from Japan’s Edo Period (17th–19th centuries) by an unknown artist featuring various yōkai (magical creatures from Japanese folklore). 100% malted barley peated to 50 PPM and double distilled in copper pots. Aged for 5 years and 11 months in a Sherry hogshead and bottled at 60% with no added color nor chill filtration. It is full bodied with well integrated peat smoke and a weighty texture on the palate.
