Machir Bay is the flagship bottling from Kilchoman Distillery. The regular stuff is a blend of 90% Bourbon cask matured whisky and 10% OIoroso cask. The Collaborative Vattings mix up the amounts a bit for a twist on their classic Single Malt. Bourbon casks are the majority in both with 85% in one and 95% in the other. Do you like the dried fruit, nuttiness and distinct sweetness of an Oloroso sherry cask matured whisky? Or do you prefer the toasty vanilla more malt forward Bourbon cask influence?
