Tequila Ocho Puntas 2023 Mesa Colorada

Puntas are a very special and flavorful part of the distillation at the back end of the heads and the beginning of the heart. It is very high proof and at least in the mezcal world, is usually reserved by the maker for his own consumption. Tequila Ocho has made very small amounts of their Puntas available for sale for the last couple of years and we are very grateful to get a tiny allocation of those precious bottles. 

The agaves come from a Rancho called Mesa Colorada and were harvested and distilled in 2023. The nose is grassy, citrusy and green with notes of baking spice and roasty agave. On the palate it is bright and peppery with salted caramel and more roasted agave. This is a rare opportunity to taste something that would normally only be sampled by the master distiller during distillation.
