The Redacted Bros. are the Thompson brothers of Scotland who were forced to "redact" their name on the brand due to a trademark conflict in the US. This is a blend of unnamed Highland Malt (perhaps Clynelish?) and an Islay malt (maybe Caol Islay?), both of which are at least 8 years old. The malts are blended and rested in a large oak vessel known as Station Road Vat 5 (hence SRV5 in the name) at the Bros. facility in Dornoch, Scotland.
This is amazingly delicious whiskey! Like how can it only be $59?! Sweet malty richness with a backbone of sea spray and just enough peat smoke to be present but not get in the way. A super satisfying everyday dram.
