Agave Marmorata that is pit roasted, tahona ground, and double distilled in copper alembics. Armando Hernandez and his brother Alvaro produce mezcales with wonderfully rich mouthfeel at their palenque in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca. This Tepeztate has some peppery spice and loads of agave sweetness. Highly aromatic.

About Mal de Amor:
Mal de Amor Mezcal is a Zapotec-family-owned brand from Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. The palenque is just off the main paved road on the outskirts of town, and it features a full restaurant, a robust barrel aging program, and a small bottling and labelling room. The agave used for production at Mal de Amor come from a variety of different lands in Oaxaca which allows for a rich diversity in expressions to include different terroir. Portions of the family owned land is used to maintain the sustainability of agave for future generations.
