What's the first thing you think of when I say "Boxed Wine"? I bet you think
"Bad hangovers in college" or "White Zinfandel". But boxed wine has come a long way recently. No longer just a cheap receptacle for plonky bulk wines, it's now rightfully seen as a more sustainable package type with a much smaller carbon footprint than a traditional bottle. And quality winemakers have paid attention and decided to add quality wine to an already smart package. 

Which brings us to Ami Ami. Produced by a traditional co-op of grower producers in the Pyrenees Mountains in the south of France. The wines are certified sustainable and contain mostly organic grapes. The carbon footprint of the wine is less than half of a bottled wine and the cardboard box is recyclable. The plastic bag inside the box keeps the wine fresh for up to 6 weeks after opening it and does not affect the flavor of the wine inside. The box is 1.5 Liters or the equivalent of 2 bottles of wine.

The Vin Rouge is 100% Syrah and is a quaffable, crowd pleasing red. Plummy with berry notes and soft tannins. It's a "I'm thirsty for a glass of red" kind of wine.
