Bols Genever

Genver is a juniper-flavored spirit that sits somewhere between a Gin and an unaged whiskey. Made from a base of malt wine, a rich and grain forward pot distilled spirit made from equal parts corn, wheat and rye with a small amount of malted barley. Juniper is infused into malt wine and redistilled before being blended with the base spirit. A handful of botanicals including, caraway, aniseed and coriander are infused into neutral grain spirit before also being blended into the finished product. Similar in flavor to Gin, and in fact the word "Gin" is an anglicized pronunciation of Genever. More textural and grain driven than Gin, it's called for in classic cocktails like the Martinez and the Holland House Cocktail.
