Citrus Negroni Cocktail Kit

Negroni's are magical. That ethereal blend of strong spirit, bitter aperitivo, and complex vermouth is symphony of flavor and balance. It's the perfect cocktail for the home bartender because you can't really mess it up.
Equal parts of your ingredients? Great.
More spirit, less vermouth? Do it.
Switch up the base spirit? Sure. 
Stir it? Yep.
Shake it? I mean, you shouldn't, but it still works.

For this (mostly) locally focused variation, we're reaching for one of our favorite new Gin releases of the last year, St. George Spirits Valley Gin. We've long been fans of every single thing they do but this floral, citrusy gin is absolutely stunning. We've decided to pair it with a bitter aperitivo from a Napa winemaker that is also citrus forward. Mommenpop pair a wine base with organic local citrus and a handful of botanicals to create delightful aperitos like the Kumquat Pop we're using here. Finally we're turning to the Basque Region of Spain for a Blanco Vermouth (Sweet White Vermouth) to add a bright and zesty botanical balance. This is an approachable, balanced cocktail that works just as well before dinner or as an after dinner nightcap. The kit contains the makings of 25 full cocktails!

Citrus Negroni
1 oz St. George Valley Gin
1 oz Mommenpop Kumquat Pop
1 oz Tximista Blanco Vermouth

Stir all ingredients over ice until well chilled and properly diluted. Stain into a chilled coupe OR a rocks glass full of fresh ice. Express an orange peel over the top of the drink.
