We here at Prizefighter HQ are certainly not fans of celebrity brands in a vacuum. We care about the where, why, and how products are made, not the fame or marketability of anyone behind it. Which is why we were so pleasantly surprised when we tried this Rye Whiskey from Queen of Houston herself, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. This is an interesting and unusual whiskey and we are here for it!

Made at MGP Distillers in Indiana from a unique mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley and then brought to Ms. Knowles-Carters home state of Texas where it is finished in Sherry casks. The aging and blending were done by Dr. Bill Lumsden who is the maturation specialist behind Glenmorangie and Ardbeg. The high malt content and Sherry barrel finishing give it a distinctive and rich flavor profile with notes of barley sugar, barrel spice and fruit. It has a lengthy finish and while tasting of Rye, it is unlike any other American Rye Whiskey we've tried.
