Paolucci Amaro Ciociaro

Created by Vincenzo Paolucci in 1873 in the town of Sora, which is in the Lazio province of Italy, about midway between Rome and Naples. The nearby Liri Valley provided many of the botanicals he needed to produce his Amari. It's still produced by his descendents to this day. Rich with smoky cola notes and citrus. Highly mixable. Works nicely in a Black Manhattan or as a substitute for the elusive Picon Amer.
