Springbank 12 Cask Strength

55.9% ABV

Springbank is one of the finest distilleries in the world by any measure. They are one of the few distilleries in Scotland to do every step of the whisky making process in house from floor malting the barley all the way to bottling and labeling the finished product.

This 12 year old cask strength is one of their flagship bottlings. It is aged in a mixture of cask types: 60% ex-Bourbon, 35% Sherry, and 5% Rum cask. It's bottled without any added colors or chill-filtration. This is the 2025 release.

About Springbank Distillery:
This distillery was founded by Archibald Mitchell in Campbeltown, Scotland in 1828 and has been owned by his family ever since. That region was once the largest whisky producing area in the world but by the 1980's there were only 2 remaining distilleries, Springbank and Glen Scotia. The Mitchell family purchased and reopened the mothballed Glengyle distillery in 2004 where they now produce the Kilkerran brand of Single Malts.

Springbank is unique in Scotland because they do every step of the whisky making process on site from floor malting the barley, to fermentation, distillation, aging, and bottling. They produce 3 distinct malts: Springbank which is distilled 2.5 times, Longrow which is heavily peated and distilled twice, and the triple distilled Hazelburn. They are independent, family owned, and make some of the finest whiskies on earth.
