Pinhook Vertical Series 10 Year Rye

53% ABV
The 7-year Vertical series release is pictured. The 10-year has the same label and features the same horse, but with a small sticker saying "Aged 10 Years".

Pinhook is an independent bottler of American Whiskey based in Louisville, Kentucky. It was started by a Sommelier/bar owner from NYC in partnership with a "Pinhooker" from Kentucky. Pinhooking is the practice of purchasing young horses based on lineage, training them, and reselling them at a much higher price. This is how they saw their whiskey project as they would purchase barrels of new make spirit, and then age/blend/bottle them themselves.

Their Vertical Series was an experiment in aging of barrels from a single batch of distillate from MGP and seeing what it's like year after year. This is the seventh release in the series from 2026. Blended from just 25 barrels and bottled without chill filtration, this 10-year-old rye is the most limited release in the Vertical Series to date. An enveloping nose of dried figs, sweet buttery pastry, and black pepper. On the palate, more creamy/buttery texture, dates, and a lengthy and extremely satisfying finish. Our favorite release in the series by far!
