Glenfarclas 105

Glenfarclas has been owned and operated by 5 generations of the Grant family, dating back to its founding in 1865. Their vision is "creating the best quality Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, in the traditional Speyside style." All of their whiskies are double distilled in their traditional direct fired copper pot stills and aged in European oak casks that previously held Oloroso Sherry from a single Spanish bodega.

The 105 is a cask strength bottling that is thought to be aged about 10 years. It is shockingly easy drinking for a whisky of such alcoholic strength. Apples, pears, dark toffee, oakiness and some sherried fruit. We recommend a splash of water to open this powerful whisky up a bit, but it's weirdly not necessary either.
