Etter Kirsch A.O.P. Zug Cherry Eau-de-Vie

The Etter family has produced Eau-de-Vie in the Swiss Alps since 1870. Kirsch is an eau-de-vie (unaged fruit brandy) made from cherries and there are over 100 different types of Kirsch made in Switzerland. It is essentially the national beverage there much as Scotch is for Scotland.

Over 9 pounds of sweet cherries from the Zug region of Switzerland are distilled to fill one half bottle of Kirsch brandy. The distillate is rested in stainless steel tanks for 12-24 months prior to bottling. A lovely after dinner digestif, addition to desserts or fruit salads, or mixed into cocktails.
