High ester, 5 year old Single Cask Rum from "A Réunion Distillery" that almost certainly is the highly regarded Savanna Distillery. Molasses based, pot distilled rum that was distilled in 2019 and aged for 1 year tropically at the distillery with a further 4 years of aging in Europe. Bottled at cask strength with no additives nor chill filtration. The Savanna expression from last years Habitation Velier series was our clear favorite due to it's complexity and deliciousness. This is the first aged expression we've tasted from the distillery and it doesn't disappoint.

This rum from the island of Réunion will intrigue any rum drinker. Not your typical offering from this distillery, this rum was distilled in 2019 and moved to Europe in 2020 to mature in a once used bourbon barrel until bottling, we found that although everyone who tried a sample gave different tasting notes, everyone agreed that this was an outstanding rum from nose to palate to finish. While we cannot disclose the distillery, we think you will be able to figure out this high ester Réunion rum pretty quickly.
