This is the flagship Bourbon from Barrell, a Louisville Kentucky based blending house. We've loved nearly everything we've ever tried from them and this is no different. We think it's such a great sign of growth for the American whiskey industry that blenders are now taken seriously and recognized for the expertise that they bring. These folks aren't distillers nor do they want to be. They are barrel pickers and blenders that merge the combined talents of distillers from all over the US and Canada.

This is a blend of Bourbons from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Maryland with a derived mashbill of 73% corn, 23% rye, and 4% malted barley. The blend does a secondary maturation in new charred American oak barrels (hence the "Double Barrel") to further amp up the notes of chocolate, vanilla, toast and leather. A lovely sipper or mixing Bourbon that is full flavored, spicy and rich.
