SINGLE CASK #6: ZACUA
Often heard before they are seen, the Zacua (Psarocolius montezuma) emits a a remarkably loud call that rings out over the forest canopy that surround the Krassel Family's cane fields. They forage off of insects found in in the multiple bromeliad species found in Santa Maria Tlalixtac. The non-migrating Zacua is particularly esteemed in the coffee plantations of Veracruz, and can be found in evergreen forests and the borders of fruit plantations in southeastern Mexico down to central Panama.
