Westward was a single malt whiskey brand originally created by Christian Krogstad at his distillery, House Spirits in Portland Oregon. They were perhaps best known for creating Aviation Gin before selling the brand and eventually selling the distillery. House Spirits is no more and the distillery is now known as Westward Whiskey and under new ownership. 

This is their flagship "Original" bottling which is a non-age stated Whiskey blended from casks that are 6 to 9 years old. They source their barley from local maltsters and are laser focused on the quality of the Distillers beer that is the base of the whiskey. They do a relatively long and cold fermentation to develop maximum flavor and depth prior to double distilling the mash is low-reflux copper pot stills. They mature the spirit in new, low-char American oak casks and do small batch blends prior to bottling. Stone fruits, vanilla, toffee, and barrel sweetness define this lovely American Single Malt Whiskey. An affordable and delightful dram.
