The Tottori - Sakura Cask Finished

40% ABV

This is a blended whisky produced by Matsui Whisky in Tottori, Japan. The Malt Whisky is double distilled in copper alembics at the Kurayoshi Distillery and the grain whiskies are sourced from unnamed distilleries. It's proofed with the soft groundwater of Totorri Prefecture’s Mount Daisen. Primary aging occurs in ex-Bourbon barrels and the whisky is finished in custom casks made from American oak staves and Sakura (Japanese cherry wood) heads. Non-age stated, it is bottled at 40% ABV without chill filtration. 

On the nose there is floral cherry blossom, cherry cola, and cinnamon notes. On the palate it's sweet with more cherry flavors, some leather, vanilla and barrel char. A delightful, affordable blended whisky that is designed for cocktailing. We can confirm that it makes a really delicious highball!
