The Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Casks Caol Ila 12 Year

The Single Malts of Scotland is a brand created by independent bottlers Elixir Distillers. They also bottle the Port Askaig line of single malts and it's an open secret that the undisclosed distillery that they use for it is Caol Ila on Islay. This is a blend of 6 hogsheads from Caol Ila that were distilled in 2010 and bottled 2022 at 48% without additives or chill filtration. Saline, BBQ smoke with cherries and a bit of caramel sweetness. Most of the production of Caol Ila gets blended into the Johnny Walker line these days so we're delighted to see a delicious independent bottling from them that is properly aged and proofed.
