Talisker is a distillery on the Isle of Skye on Scotland's northwest coast. It's safe to say that it is one of the finest and most beloved producers of whisky in the world. This is a limited "Distillers Edition" release that is a non-age stated, peated whisky that was aged in both new American oak and Amoroso Sherry casks. The distillery has said that the spirit was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021. While lacking a bit of the maritime influenced saline quality of their flagship 10 year Single Malt, this one swaps in some crowd pleasing caramel, citrus, and BBQ sauce notes. A rich and sumptuous dram.
