Redbreast - Lustau Edition Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

46% ABV

Single Pot Still Irish whiskey made at the Middleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. "Single Pot" or "Pure Pot Still" is a style of whiskey unique to Ireland that is a spirit produced at a single distillery from a mash of malted and unmalted or raw barley in a copper pot still. The unmalted barley is said to give the spirit "spicier bristle" and "thicker texture" than Single Malt Whiskey. Redbreast is triple distilled, another common practice in Irish Whiskey production.

This special bottling of Redbreast is aged for 9-12 years in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks prior to finishing in first fill Oloroso Sherry casks from Bodegas Lustau. It is our favorite bottling from Redbreast because of its nutty marzipan, rich fruit notes, and silky mouthfeel. A sophisticated and delicious dram.
