Lost Lantern are an independent bottler of American craft spirits based in Vermont. They primarily highlight smaller distilleries that may not yet have a national profile but make fantastic whiskey. Middle West Spirits is a distillery in Columbus Ohio that champions the distinctive flavors of the Ohio River Valley.

This is a cask strength, non-chill filtered Straight Rye Whiskey that was aged for 4 years in a 53 gallon new oak cask from a local cooperage. Made from a 4 grain mashbill led by dark pumpernickel rye grain. This gives it a chocolatey, earthy flavor profile. The sweetness is reminiscent of chocolate pot de creme with a warming rye spice. A slightly different flavor profile from the normal commodity rye used in most whiskies, this bottling was a revelation for us.
