"Boo-Nuh-Ha-Ven" is a distillery on the northeastern tip of the magical whisky Isle of Islay, Scotland. Although that island is known for peated whiskies, Bunnahabhain is actually known for their NON-peated whiskies, including this one. Aged for 12 years in ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks and bottled without any added colors or chill filtration. It is very fruit forward with cherries and citrus, some briny, toasty, and vanilla notes. Although it is unpeated, it has a slightly smoky quality to it perhaps from the barrel char? Rich and lush with a chocolate covered orange flavor on the finish. A simply delightful dram!
