Viva Mexico Tahona Blanco Tequila

48% ABV

A brand that we've often enjoyed in Mexico and we're delighted to see it more widely available now at home. Produced at the fantastic NOM 1414, in the most traditional manner, and the one which we personally prefer. The fully mature highland agaves are brick oven roasted and crushed with a Tahona (TA-OH-NA) or large stone wheel. The agaves are fermented with ambient yeasts in "pipones" which are large, open-top wooden vats, with the agave fibers. The resulting mash is double distilled in copper pots to a high proof of 48% ABV. Easily one of our favorite new Tequila releases of the last few years. A complex flavor profile of cooked agave, citrus, minerals, and some saline. A truly top class Blanco sipper.
