Transcontinental Rum Line Guyana 2014 Single Cask Rum

58.8% ABV

Transcontinental Rum Line is a project from the importers La Maison & Velier that is inspired by the historical trips that rum casks took between the "New World" and the European continent. All of the Rums in this line are aged both tropically at their point of origin and continentally in Europe. Their focus is on single origin rums and transparency about provenance and production. There are never any additives of sugar, colors or flavors to the rums in this line.

This Guyana bottling was distilled at Diamond Distillery (aka Demerara Distillers Ltd.) in 2014 from molasses in a column still. It was shipped to Europe where it aged for 8 years in an ex-Rum casks in the mild northern climate. It was bottled at cask strength
with no additives or adulteration of any kind. They do indicate a residual sugar level of 0.1 g/L which could be residue from the Rum previously aged in the barrel. It has an ester content of 1 g/HLPA.

This powerful Rum is sweet and inviting on the nose. On the palate there are notes of chocolate, maple, petrol, and cedar. The finish is strong and persistent.
