Bapt & Clem's White Rhum Agricole Réunion Savanna Distillery

Reunion is an island in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar, that is a protectorate of France. This Rum was produced by Distillerie de Savanna in Saint-André and bottled in France at the Darroze Estate in Armagnac. Bapt and Clem are the names of Francis Darroze 2 children. This is a Rhum Agricole made from fresh pressed sugar cane juice but the distillery actually produces 3 other styles of Rhum as well. It was bottled without chill filtration nor the addition of sugar, colorants, or any other additives. On the nose it has a waxy quality with tropical fruits, citrus notes, and the characteristic vegetal funk. On the palate it is peppery and grassy with some sweet tropical fruit and a lengthy finish. We have been blown away by the Rhums of Distillerie de Savanna of late and this one is no exception.
