Nixta Licor de Maize Corn Liqueur

30% ABV

Corn Liqueur produced at a distillery on the outskirts of Mexico City. It is made from a base of ancestral cacahuazintle maize, grown in the high valleys and foothills of the Nevado de Toluca volcano west of Mexico City. The peak season tender corn is macerated in a corn spirit and sweetened with a sweet wort made from both fresh and nixtamalized corn (where the brand gets its name). It is bottled in a custom bottle that resembles an ear of corn. Sweet with notes of cornbread, fresh corn and vanilla. It mixes particularly well with whiskey, especially high corn-content ones like Bourbon or Mexican corn whiskey. Use it as a sweetener in an Old Fashioned or as a unique modifier in other cocktails.
