Mai Tai Cocktail Kit

The Mai Tai is one of our favorite Daiquiri variations and also one of the most misunderstood cocktails. There are TONS of really bad examples of Mai Tai's served at beachside resorts the world over that bare no resemblance to the Victor "Trader Vic" Bergeron's recipe from 1944 (invented 3 blocks away from our shop at his first restaurant, Hinky Dinks). His original recipe called for a blend of Jamaica and Martinique Rums, which is why we love the Denizen Vatted Rum so much for this drink. It's a blend of unaged Martinique rum and 3 different aged Guyanese rums. It's a flavor bomb and perfect for this application. The kit contains enough product for 12 cocktails based on the spec listed below, with some leftover syrup and does not include lime juice. 

Mai Tai
2oz Denizen Vatted Rum
1/2oz Cointreau
1/4oz Cane Sirop
1/2oz Orgeat
3/4oz Fresh Lime

Shake vigorously with ice and strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish it with something festive; an orchid, a mint sprig, a citrus wheel, or some combination of the 3. Rinse and repeat.
