Contratto Bitter

Contratto is a winery and distillery that dates back to 1867. Their "Wine Cathedral", a vast and deep underground wine cellar that was excavated by hand over the course of several decades, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

They have produced Vermouth and Aperitivi since 1920 utilizing their own wines and distillates as the base. Their Bitter is infused with 24 botanicals, sweet and bitter orange most prominently, sweetened with cane sugar and naturally colored with beetroot and carrot extracts. It is comparable to Campari in terms of bitterness and sweetness and is a wonderful naturally colored option in cocktails that call for Bitter like Negroni's, Americano's, and Boulevardiers.
