Cocchi Americano Bianco

16.5% ABV

Giulio Cocchi founded his distillery in Cocconato, Italy just outside of Turin. It has been owned by the Bava family since 1978 and they still use their estate grapes for the wine base of their Vermouth and Aperitvi.

Americano is a style of fortified and aromatised wine made from white grapes and generally bittered with Gentian and Chinchona. It is similar to the now unavailable Kina Lillet, an ingredient in many 20th century cocktails, including the Vesper Martini made famous by James Bond. Bittersweet and botanically complex, it is lovely on the rocks with a slice of citrus, mixed with soda, or as a substitute for Vermouth in an Americano Highball.
