Cap Corse Mattei Blanc Quinquina

Quinquina/Kina/China-China is a style of fortified aperitif wine that is infused with cinchona bark (best known as the main ingredient in tonic water) and other botanicals. Kina Lillet was perhaps the best known example of a Blanc Quinquina and is an ingredient in many classic cocktails like a Vesper Martini and Corpse Reviver No. 2, but is sadly not produced anymore. (The common Lillet is a different product that lacks the bitterness of the Kina). Cap Corse Blanc is the best available example of the style that we have ever tasted.

Cap Corse is produced in Corsica from 100% Corsican wine and botanicals and has been owned by the Mattei family since it was founded in 1872. Wonderful mixed with Tonic or Soda water or just on it's own over ice with a citrus peel. Refrigerate after opening and drink within 3 months of opening if stored properly.
