Mal Bien Espadin "Alta Tensiòn!"

Made in the village of Yogana in the Ejutla district of Oaxaca by Maestro Felix Ramìrez. "Alta Tensiòn" means High Tension and refers to the higher proof and concentration of this bottling. We'd call it a "distillers proof" as it's not quite a Puntas bottling, but it's definitely composed of higher proof, aggressively flavored liquid probably taken from the earlier part of the distillation cycle. As is common in that region, this was distilled on a Refrescadera still in a single pass. It is bright and lively on the palate with tropical fruits, some pepper, very soft smoke and a pleasant afterburn. This is full throttle Espadin!
