Mai Tai
A Mai Tai is sort of a jazzy Daiquiri. It's Rum, Lime, and Sweetener, just like a Daiquiri, it just uses 3 different sweeteners that also layer flavor. The Denizen Overproof is a Rum blend that is somewhat similar to what Vic "Trader Vic" Bergeron used when he invented the Mai Tai in 1944.
Fun fact: this drink was invented less than half a mile from our shop at Trader Vic's first restaurant, called Hinky Dinks, which was located on San Pablo Avenue.
🍹 Mai Tai
2oz Denizen Vatted Rum
.5 oz Dry Curacao
.25 oz Demerara Gum Syrup
.5 oz Orgeat
.75 oz Fresh Lime
Shake vigorously with ice and strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish it with something festive; an orchid, a mint sprig, a citrus wheel, or some combination of the 3. Rinse and repeat.
