Lions Tail
This drink is sort of a Tiki-coded Whiskey Sour. Allspice Dram is a liqueur made from pot-still Jamaican Rum, allspice berries and sugar with a bracing, spicy flavor. It had all but disappeared from the landscape until the Austrian-made St. Elizabeth's arrived in the US in 2008. It's ubiquity on cocktail bar menus in the cooler months has become something of a meme at this point.
In addition to the Allspice, the Lion's Tail is made with Rye Whiskey, lime juice, Angostura Bitters, and Demerara syrup. An absolute flavor bomb of a cocktail with richness and complex baking spice notes that are perfect for the fall and winter.

Lion's Tail
2oz Sazerac Rye Whiskey
0.5oz St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
0.33oz Liber & Co. Demerara Gum Syrup
0.5oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
2 Dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker full of ice. Shake violently until well chilled and aerated and properly diluted. Strain into a frozen coupe glass and garnish with a lime peel.
