Carter Beats the Devil

Carter Beats the Devil is an iconic modern classic created by our good pal Erik Adkins for Flora Restaurant in Oakland way back in 2006. Essentially a Spicy Tommy's Margarita featuring Reposado Tequila, Mezcal, and a spicy kick from the addition of Fire Tincture, a concentrated infusion of hot peppers in high proof spirit that's added in dashes.

This is the Spicy Margarita that dreams are made of and we are so glad that it gets recognized in the canon of modern classic cocktail recipes. It is a versatile cocktail in that it works at nearly any of time of year, warm weather or cold. 

đŸ„ƒÂ Ingredients

1.5 oz El Tequileno Reposado
.5oz San Bartolo Espadin Mezcal
.75oz Tres Agaves Agave Nectar
1oz Lime Juice
3 Dashes Scrappys Fire Tincture

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker full of ice. Shake aggressively until well chilled and properly diluted. Strain into a frozen coupe glass.
