A single barrel, cask strength bottling of Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey that was aged for 9 years and 6 months. Rare Character is an independent bottler and unable to reveal where the cask was sourced from but it's safe to say that it probably came from the only Kentucky distiller that was making Straight Malt Whiskey in 2013 when this was barreled: Heaven Hill. The mashbill is 65% Malted Barley and 35% corn. A powerful and spicy malt whiskey that benefits greatly from an ice cube which allows the rich and malty grain notes to bloom. An unusual and fascinating example of a style that is becoming more common at an age and proof that is almost never seen at this point.
