Made from a 4 grain mashbill led by dark pumpernickel rye grain. This gives it a chocolatey, earthy flavor profile. The sweetness is reminiscent of chocolate pot de creme with a warming rye spice. We've tried many Amburana aged spirits that were overwhelmed by the secondary flavors that the wood adds and the character of the underlying spirit is lost. This is a wonderful example of a restrained wood influence that adds a very pleasant cinnamon note to the sweet and peppery Rye Whiskey in the glass. A simply delightful and complex sipping Rye. We've not had many Brandy or Madeira cask finished American Rye Whiskies but this bottle makes us think we need to try more.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe \"blunt\" referred to in the name (allegedly) refers to a type of quasi-legal, re-rolled cigar wrapper flammable and inhalable smoke product often enjoyed by the Dark Arts Master Blender. He (allegedly) was annoyed by the fact that there are any number of Cigar Blend spirits, but none for his smoke of choice.
